.

I recorded this conversation during the first week of January, my favorite week of the year.
Not only is it my birthday week, but it's the week I spend reflecting, writing a letter to myself, and mapping out the year ahead. Not making resolutions so much as paying attention to where I want my life and work to go.

Listening back now, six months later, is a strange experience. I barely recognized my own voice at first. Some of the things I hoped for have already happened. Some things have changed entirely. Some are still unfolding, but overall I’m still right on track.
It was a good reminder that planning isn't about predicting the future. It's about giving yourself a direction, then checking in along the way and being flexible.
One goal on that January list was to be a guest on a podcast.

A great small-town day trip for all my NC peeps!

BRYAN DEVENDORF ROYAL GREEN

BEnJI HUGHES - SONGS IN THE KEY OF ANIMALS

I’m so happy to share with y’all the wonder that is Benji Hughes. I was honored to create the cover art for his latest release on Merge Records, “Songs in the Key of Animals”. A handful of my favorite musical experiences in life have happened in his presence and I hope the whole world hops on his magic carpet. It’s guaranteed to be a weird, wild, wonderful ride! Equal parts heartbreaking & inspiring.

Congrats Benji!
