Morans Wood Components is a family-run British manufacturer with over 45 years of experience making bespoke wooden products for brands and businesses.
From luxury packaging and point of sale displays to hospitality products, furniture and completely bespoke pieces, the variety of what we make is a big part of what keeps things interesting.
Today, traditional woodworking skills sit alongside modern design and manufacturing technology, allowing us to take projects from an initial idea through to production – all from our factory in Warrington.
A brief history
Morans was founded by Andy Moran in the late 1970s, initially supplying engraved goods and wooden components to the trophy and giftware industries. When Geoff Lewis joined in 1979, the business began moving into larger-scale manufacturing, producing everything from small wooden bases to much larger products, including snooker tables.
Throughout the 1980s, Morans manufactured bespoke wooden products for a wide range of industries. Investment in woodworking technology and a focus on making production more efficient helped the business compete in increasingly price-driven markets.
As those markets changed during the 1990s, so did Morans. Our knowledge of timber, machining and manufacturing allowed us to move into new areas and steadily broaden the products we could make.
The next generation joined the business in the early 2000s, with Andy’s son Paul arriving in 2000 and son-in-law Neil Horton in 2005. This period saw Morans develop further into luxury packaging, hospitality, point of sale and signage, with a growing focus on bespoke, quality-led products.
After several expansions, we eventually moved into our current 35,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Birchwood, Warrington – where the business continues to design and manufacture today.

Where we’re at today
A lot has changed since the 1970s, but we still enjoy the same thing: working out how to make interesting products from wood.
Our team includes skilled wood machinists, spray finishers, engravers, designers and manufacturing specialists, with design, CNC machining, finishing, branding and assembly all handled from our factory in Birchwood, Warrington.
The variety is a big part of what we enjoy. One project might be a luxury presentation box, another a piece of furniture, retail display or something we’ve never made before. We work closely with brands, businesses and creative agencies to solve those challenges and turn ideas into products that can be manufactured consistently.
We’re proud to be a family business, proud to manufacture in Britain and still excited to see what we’ll be asked to make next.
