Detect chemical threats in seconds—no sample handling.

FIND is a multi‑channel, fluorescence‑based handheld detector that continuously monitors air (vapours & aerosols) and identifies threats on‑device—with a detachable heated swab for surface‑deposited solids.

TRL 5/6 • 8 channels • 30‑sec warm‑up • 10–60‑sec response • 630grams • 8h runtime.

Characteristics.

  • Safer, contactless detection — Continuous ambient sensing reduces risky manual handling in many scenarios; swab only when needed.
  • Trace‑level performance — Detects solids, vapours and aerosols at trace levels (e.g., sub‑ppm TNT vapour; ppb nicotine; microgram meth on swab, per internal testing).
  • One device, many applications — Detects between classes (explosives, narcotics, CWAs, TICs, fumigants) and within classes (specific compounds), using field‑swappable, auto‑config cartridges.
  • Built for operators — Rechargeable 8h runtime; data logging; ruggedised; field swappable cartridge packs; and Wi‑Fi/cloud on the roadmap. Real-time data to drive intelligence-led operations.

Specifications.

Continuous sensing • 30‑sec warm‑up • 10–60‑sec response (vapour/aerosol) • 630 g base / ~800 g with swab heater • 8h runtime • Data logging • Heated swab to 160 °C for solids • Auto‑config cartridges • >100 proprietary sensing materials (growing)

What FIND detects.

  • Classes: narcotics, explosives, chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, fumigants.
  • Examples: MA·HCl, fentanyl HCl, cocaine HCl, MDMA·HCl, THC; TNT, TATP/organoperoxides; sarin, VX, mustard; nicotine (incl. vapes), chloropicrin; MeBr. This list will grow as we get access to substances of interest.
  • States & modes: vapours & aerosols (ambient); solids via heated swab (for low‑volatility analytes).
  • Sensitivity: sub‑ppm TNT vapour; ppb nicotine; microgram‑level meth on swab; additional compounds TBD.

How FIND works.

  • Multi‑channel fluorescence: Eight independent channels measure changes in fluorescent response across a proprietary materials library, enabling pattern‑based identification on device.
  • Cartridge system: Field‑swappable, encoded cartridges auto‑configure the device for the target set; the library is >100 materials and expanding.
  • Dual sampling: Draws ambient air (vapours & aerosols) across the cartridges; heated swab (to 160 °C) volatilises low‑vapour‑pressure solids for analysis.

FIND's advantages.

  • One platform, many missions — A single handheld device spans explosives, narcotics, CWAs, TICs and fumigants, and goes within classes to specific compounds—simply swap cartridges in the field.
  • Reduced handling risk — Many incumbent analyzers require direct sample contact; FIND adds continuous ambient sensing so officers can screen without touching unknowns in many scenarios.
  • Ignition‑aware operations — In combustible atmospheres, high‑intensity laser excitation used by some analyzers can present ignition hazards; agencies mitigate via strict SOPs. FIND’s ambient mode reduces the need for direct laser‑based interrogation of unknowns.
  • Upgradeable and scalable — Cartridges and firmware expand capability over time; roadmap includes Wi‑Fi/cloud fleet management, ruggedised and suitable for drone/robot operations.
  • Low cost  — about one-third of Raman and a fraction of Mass Spec — means agencies can deploy more devices for any given budget; improves safety and operational reach.

Investors.

From royalties to a platform. Our fluorescent sensing materials have already generated royalty income through licensed use in a market‑leading handheld explosives detector. FIND is the next‑generation, multi‑class platform expanding from explosives into narcotics, CWAs and TICs—supported by TRL 5/6 progress and an 18–24‑month commercialisation plan (Delta → Epsilon → certification → first fleet orders). Razor‑and‑blades model (devices + cartridges), with cloud data services on the roadmap.
