Seoul International Law Journal has published in-depth studies on international law issues directly tied to Korea’s national interests and destiny, including Korea–Japan relations, the division of the Korean Peninsula, the Korean War, the accession of North and South Korea to the UN, the domestic implementation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, the IMF financial crisis, the establishment and Korea’s accession to the International Criminal Court, the Korea–US FTA, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since its inaugural issue in 1994, the journal has systematically published summaries of Korean court decisions on international law, newly ratified treaties, and domestic legislation related to international law, providing foundational material for the advancement of international legal studies in Korea.
Going forward, Seoul International Law Journal will continue to publish research that analyzes and addresses emerging international legal issues from Korea’s perspective, aiming to contribute to the development of a Korean approach to international legal scholarship.
