As a licensed clinical psychologist, I provide individual, couples, and family therapy. In addition, I also provide consultation and supervision for provisionally and fully licensed therapists. My extensive experience allows me to work successfully with a diverse array of patients. I utilize a number of different approaches, integrating research and best practices to meet the needs of the individuals with whom I work.

I’m Jennifer Cox, a Salt Lake City pediatrician with over 30 years of experience caring for children, teens, and young adults. Since leaving general practice, I’m focused on helping support students- from grade school through graduate school- who are navigating challenges like ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I offer in-person visits at Shoreline, as well as telehealth visits. My goal is to provide attentive, personalized care for each patient. If you’re looking for thoughtful, experienced care for a student in your life, I’d love to meet you.

Dr. Jensen provides neuropsychological and developmental assessment, consultation, and therapy for children and adolescents (18 months to college) to help parents/ caregivers, teachers, therapists, pediatrician, and other providers better understand a child’s strengths and challenges, clarify diagnoses, and work together to find the tools, strategies, and resources to address these.

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who provides medication management for individuals 6 years of age and older.

Mental Health Counseling Intern
My clinical practice focuses on mental health therapy support for adult and adolescent patients through all stages of life. Grounded in evidence-based acceptance therapy, I help each person clarify what is most important to them and explore ways to move forward in alignment with it to bring more meaning to their life.

I am dedicated to guiding clients through evidence-based techniques, including elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness. My approach is rooted in creating a welcoming, non-judgmental space, fostering a healthy therapeutic relationship.

I meet my clients where they are, providing a non-judgmental space where anyone can feel safe being vulnerable, because I believe humans need connection, not correction.

I am passionate about creating a collaborative environment that facilitates growth and curiosity in concert with evidence-based techniques and interventions.

I believe that healing happens in a safe, supportive space where clients feel truly seen and heard. My therapeutic style in session is integrative and rooted in trauma-informed, person-centered care.

My therapeutic approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I help clients reconnect with their values, build resilience, develop mental flexibility, deepen relationships, and improve overall wellbeing.

You might be someone who feels things deeply—creative, intuitive, and most yourself when moving, exploring, or creating. Using DBT, attachment-based, and person-centered therapy, I help you regulate emotions, break cycles that keep you stuck, and reconnect with your strength and sense of self.

Intern
I draw from a wide range of trauma-informed approaches including Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy, psychodynamic approaches, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness approaches, biofeedback, cognitive behavioral hypnotherapy, Unified Theory, and neurolinguistic programming (NLP). I offer a caring, respectful, empathetic and accepting space. I honor your pain, and I will gently challenge you when needed, because I believe in your ability to heal and grow.

Intern
I am a graduate student intern completing my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. As a developing counselor, my approach is rooted in compassion, authenticity, and respect for each individual’s experience, and I believe meaningful progress happens when clients feel genuinely understood within a consistent and supportive therapeutic relationship.

I believe that healing and personal growth begin with feeling genuinely heard, understood, and supported. I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, and life transitions, integrating EMDR, CBT, ACT, attachment-based therapy, and motivational interviewing to help you develop practical skills, increase resilience, and create lasting change.
