Trade and Lateral started in May 2000 – a time when faxing and paper flyer drops were all the rage, and no South African saw the need for a business website. Barely anyone used a computer. Outlook Express was about as advanced as it got. Not many people could send more than a black-and-white text email.

Fortunately for us, times have changed!

Trade and Lateral grew alongside the IT industry in South Africa. As people became more familiar with digital marketing, we expanded our service offering. We were learning like everyone else. We made just about every email marketing and website design mistake one can make! As we broke things, we learned to fix them too, and figured out the right ways to get tangible marketing results.

We’ve moved away from email marketing, and websites are now our primary love. COVID shook the world, and everyone was forced to take their businesses online. eCommerce websites and online shops are now crucial for surviving this precarious world.

Trade and Lateral has seen an industry rise out of nothing, and we have grown with it. We now have teams in the United Kingdom and South Africa, and service customers from around the world.
