Browser extension

Anything that plays in your browser — which is where most courses are. Nothing to download, works on any computer, and it's the same on Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS.

Before you install

I'm on Windows 10 — can I use the desktop app?

Sorry, no — it only works on Windows 11. Windows 10 doesn't have the audio feature the app relies on, so there's no way around it. The extension works on any computer though, and it covers every course that plays in your browser.

Do I have to choose? Can I use both?

Use both — plenty of people do. They share one account and the same hours, so nothing is wasted either way. Most people use the extension for online courses and open the app when they're watching something they downloaded.

How do I install DubTab on Mac?

Requires macOS 14.2 or later. Choose Apple Silicon or Intel to match your Mac, open the DMG, and drag DubTab to Applications. Allow system audio recording when prompted on first use.

How does the app update itself?

By itself, in the background — you don't have to do anything. Updates are small and quick. If you'd rather check for one yourself, there's a button in Settings.

Still not sure which one?

Start with the extension — it's free to install and takes one click. If you add the app later, both still use the same pool of hours.
