Hyundai IONIQ 3 – Catapult and Innocean Berlin stage the European launch under the motto ‘More than Freedom’

For the launch of the new Hyundai IONIQ 3, Catapult created the visual world for Hyundai Motor Europe. Under the campaign motto “More than Freedom”, Hyundai puts the everyday versatility of its new electric vehicle centre stage: electric mobility is presented not as a limitation, but as a new form of freedom.

Accordingly, the visual language combines classic automotive imagery with lifestyle moments. Cafés, urban streets and encounters with friends provide the backdrop, while exterior, interior and detail shots showcase the design and functionality of the IONIQ 3.

The production itself played a key role in bringing this visual world to life. The images were created by Catapult in Bulgaria using a hybrid workflow combining photography, CGI and AI. As the vehicle was still strictly confidential at the time of the shoot and the urban scenarios required precise control, parts of the...

Cape Town Productions – international productions, new technologies and the unique possibilities of South Africa

Cape Town Productions, aka CTPROD, has been supporting international photo and film productions in South Africa for many years, continuously evolving alongside the changing demands of the industry. Cape Town in particular still offers an extraordinary range of possibilities: urban locations, spectacular coastlines, mountains and wide-open landscapes are often just a short drive apart – an advantage that has been attracting international clients and creatives for years.

The past season once again brought a mix of long-standing partners and new clients to South Africa for CTPROD, with productions including Kia, Volkswagen, several adidas shoots, Karl Lagerfeld and Intersport.

But the industry is changing. Automotive productions work differently today than they did just a few years ago, technology is reshaping production workflows, and more sustainable ways of working are becoming...

“Put the World on Mute” – Marcel Paris Silences the World for the DS N°7

What if the noise of the city suddenly turned into nothing more than a mime show? For the launch campaign of the new DS N°7, creative agency Marcel Paris came up with a simple yet charming answer: close the door – mute the world.

In the campaign film “DS N°7: Put the World on Mute”, the protagonist initially finds himself in the midst of the city’s acoustic chaos. People, traffic, stress and constant movement define the scene. But as soon as the doors of the DS N°7 close, everything becomes quiet. The outside world remains visible, yet its noisy protagonists turn into silent mimes – a playful translation of acoustic insulation and comfort into an instantly understandable creative idea.

Björk’s “It’s Oh So Quiet” plays a central role. Reinterpreted for the campaign, the song’s characteristic shifts between silence and explosive energy become the musical counterpart to the visual...

Paper on Paper, Colour on Colour – Jessica Backhaus Completes Her Trilogy of Abstraction with ‘Papyrus’

Paper is an everyday material, almost taken for granted – and at the same time one of the oldest carriers of our memories, thoughts and stories. In Papyrus, Jessica Backhaus makes this very material the starting point for a photographic body of work that is as reduced as it is sensual. Following Cut Outs (2021) and Plein Soleil (2024), the new book completes her trilogy on abstraction – and marks her tenth publication with Kehrer Verlag.

At a time when images increasingly exist on screens and paper is slowly disappearing from our everyday lives, Jessica Backhaus turns her attention to its immediate qualities: surface, colour, fragility, light and shadow. Using the simplest of means, she creates compositions whose very reduction gives them a remarkable presence.

The title Papyrus draws a beautiful line between past and present. In antiquity, this fragile material was entrusted with...

The 'Sail' editorial for the Vogue CS July 2026 issue featuring Georgina Grenville – with exquisite set design by Theresa Rohe
