Saigon Sisters is led by Vietnamese sisters Mary Nguyen Aregoni and Theresa Nguyen, alongside the memory of their beloved mother, Mama Suu, who passed away on January 5, 2025. The family's story starts long before Chicago, with a grandmother who ran a food distribution business serving markets and embassies in Laos, and continues through their move to the United States in 1976. What began as a dream between a mother and her daughters is now a restaurant built on that same entrepreneurial spirit and love of feeding people well.

Growing up between Southeast Asian and French cuisines gave this family a distinct way of cooking, one that shows up in every banh mi baguette and every bowl of curry we serve. Our kitchen blends traditional Vietnamese technique with dishes that reflect where this family has been and what they've learned along the way, from Laos to Chicago. Nothing on the menu is there by accident, it's all connected to where we come from.

You'll find us at 567 W. Lake Street, in a West Loop dining room built for real conversation over a real meal, with limited indoor seating that fills up fast, so a reservation is a good idea. Our roots are also still at the Chicago French Market at 131 N. Clinton Street, the same spot where Mama Suu once served Banh Mis and Pho to the neighborhood. Two locations, one family, and a story you can taste in both.
