Whether your team is headed to October or packing its bags for the offseason, how did 2026 measure up to expectations?

Full final 2026 regular-season grades for all 30 MLB teams

We're keeping this an A for now, although if the White Sox can rally over these final few days and win the division, it should bump up to an A+ as one of the least likely division titles in recent memory. Preseason forecasts: 61-101 on ESPN, 67-95 on FanGraphs. Instead, with Miguel Vargas, Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery each topping 30 home runs, the White Sox have slugged their way -- hopefully -- into the playoffs, even if it's just as a wild card. They got just enough pitching, especially from a bullpen that has pitched the most innings in the majors (and is wearing down a bit as the season ends). Heck, Tristan Peters went from former Savannah Banana to AL All-Star. What's not to love about this season?

ESPN Gives us an A (possible A+) for our Season Rating.

That's it. For a Wild Card spot. Obviously winning the division would be much better, but it's crazy that it's down to this. Let's see what tomorrow brings!

We need a White Sox W and a Rangers L

Sox need to stick together. Smack around them Guardians please :)

LETS GO RED SOX!!!!!!!

Look, I'll be honest. I went into a dark place after that Pirates sweep. I avoided getting invested in the Cards and Guards road trip, but thankfully the one win in Cleveland gave our Sox the all important tiebreaker. Blowing that lead to the Tigers has us one step behind but somehow, with 6 games left, the Sox nearly hold their destiny in their hands. My brain will not allow me to even accept the possibility of not clinching a Wild Card Spot, so for the sake of this exercise, I'm focusing on the path to the Division Title and a Bye.To make things simple: the Sox have to finish with 1 fewer loss than Cleveland in these last 6 games. So if the Sox lose 1, the Guards have to lose 2.My prediction: The Sox sweep the Royals in dominant fashion. Kay goes 5 in a nail biter Game 1 win. Vargas, Mune, and Colson homer for Fedde in a blowout Game 2 victory. Then Sandlin and the bullpen finish the sweep. Boston, clinching the 5th seed with two wins doesn’t let off the gas and sweeps Cleveland, putting them on the brink. (Sox have a 2 game lead with 3 to play)With one victory needed the Sox blast the Rockies 10-2 and clinch the Division title and the most improbable Sox season in 21 years continues into October!

Staff Final Week Predictions - Lenny G

Sox: 84-78Guards: 83-79I'd like to think that, given the competition, the Sox will run the table or go 5-1 to make it easy. But every time over the last 6 weeks we fans have reached for optimism, our hands have been slapped away, like a lumpy and unloved child grabbling for a treat. So I think we'll lose one to KC to generate some panic and despair for old-times sake, but Boston will push Cleveland around, and we clinch on Friday or Saturday. The last loss will be the result of a hangover, which I'll share. What are your thoughts? How will this week go?
