• We transcribe your voice to text. When you dictate, your audio is sent to our servers and processed by our AI provider (Groq) — then deleted immediately after transcription.
• We collect only what we need to run your account and billing: your email, usage stats, and Stripe-managed payment status. We never see your card number.
• No analytics, no tracking, no ads. We don't track which websites you visit, and we never sell your data.
• You're in control. You can export or delete your account data at any time.

Bolt Scribe is built with privacy as a core principle. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service, store it only as long as needed, and never sell it to third parties.

What We Collect

Account Information

• Email address – To create and authenticate your account
• Authentication tokens – To keep you logged in (stored in HttpOnly cookie)

Usage Data

• Audio recordings – Only when you initiate dictation. Transmitted securely to our servers for transcription and immediately deleted after processing.
• Transcriptions – Returned from our transcription service. Not stored by our servers after delivery to your clipboard.
• Usage metrics – Minutes of transcription used, billing status, and plan details to manage your subscription.

User Preferences

• Microphone selection, hotkey bindings, and formatting template choices – Stored locally in your browser or on our servers to sync across your devices.

What We Don't Collect

• We do not collect your location data
• We do not track which websites you visit
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services
• We do not sell your data to anyone
• We do not store your audio recordings or transcriptions on our servers

How We Use Your Data

• Transcription – To convert your voice to text

Data Storage & Retention

• Audio recordings – Deleted immediately after transcription (typically within seconds)
• Transcriptions – Not stored on our servers. Only delivered to your clipboard.
• Account data – Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon account closure.
• Authentication tokens – Stored in HttpOnly cookie with expiration times (30 days for access tokens, 90 days for refresh tokens)
