Max Klare was a fantastic pick.

Wait. Davante Adams is nobody's secret, right? Dude has been on a Hall of Fame path through a lot of his career. Well, the reason Adams made my NFC Secret Superstars for Week 2 had to do with how the Rams were able to utilize him against the New York Giants. This wasn't the red zone target version of Davante Adams we're used to now -- this was the Davante Adams we saw at his peak, and it happened at the perfect time with Puka Nacua out. From the article:
Did anybody expect the 33-year-old Adams to go off as he did against the New York Giants on Monday night?Probably not. In that 28-6 Rams win, Adams caught eight passes on 10 targets for 195 yards and two touchdowns — he completely shredded the Giants’ secondary, and this wasn’t underneath red zone stuff. With Puka Nacua out due to a hip injury, one might expect McVay to do his usual 13 personnel thing, and get explosive passing plays out of scheme. Yes, the Rams did go with 13 personnel on 53.3% of their snaps because they’re the Rams, but it was Adams who was the force multiplier here — all over the field. For one game at least, this was the Davante Adams who was on a Hall of Fame track for a good long time.

I am most excited to where this defense ends up by January. So many pieces that just need to find their fit. Have all confidence in the world these Rams will get there. If they keep stacking and are not undermined by injury this could be a Rams D that nobody is allowed to select while playing Madden. Just watching AD work with that front...Donald is like this indescribable fulcrum that allows you to lift everyone around him. I knew it, heard it all while he was playing, but his being gone from this team for 2 seasons and watching the Rams closely the last 2 years...it is like seeing all these out of rhythm pieces and parts then adding a single cog that fits right in place and synchronizes everything. Wont be long (barring injury) before this defense is rolling as smooth as the second hand of a rolex.

In another thread, someone posted that going 2-3 to open would be an absolute disaster. Under the circumstances of Garrett out and Puka maybe out, not sure I agree. It wouldn't be great, to be sure, but considering our next 3 opponents, DEN, PHI and BUF, it's a definitely possibility (the TRUE disaster would be getting swept, and being 1-4!). Look at the rest of the season. It gets easier. Garrett will be back. Donald will be even more of a factor, with added playing time. Puka should be 100%. The hardest games will be the divisional ones....extra motivation there. I don't see more than 2 losses, at most after Week 5. 12-5 gets us into the playoffs, perhaps peaking at the right time (?). And I don't think the division record will be worse than 4-2, when it's all said and done. Maybe the Melbourne fiasco was just a fluke, after all....Rams didn't play anywhere near what they're capable of last night but still came away with a relatively stress free win. Hope springs eternal. Also, let's get that 1st rd. bye, get Ohtani and Pages back, Betts and Tucker are finally hitting, MIL only has two healthy SPs....we can DO this. Go Dodgers!

Rams' schedule

I really think Klare could be someone to watch. Whether that is this year or next, who know's. But the way McVay brings along his young players, as a fan, you just have to stay patient, as far as seeing the results, that you may want to see sooner.
