SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - 16 News Now is hearing from the Mishawaka homeowner involved in the Amazon Flex driver delivery situation Sunday night.

The homeowner, Tim Witham, said he and his wife were on high alert because few people travel the barn driveway all the way up to the pole barn.

“I walked down my sidewalk, shining the light at the person who was at the rear of the car. Her hair is long so we couldn’t see the Amazon shirt,” Witham said in a statement.

He said they hadn’t received their Amazon package earlier in the day like expected, so they weren’t on alert for a delivery that night.

He said he only had a flashlight in his hand as he walked down the driveway, his wife on the porch.

“I NEVER told her put your hands up, only exchanging some greetings and pleasantries,” he said.

The Withams believe Amazon drivers, Flex or not, should only be driving Amazon-marked vehicles at night, not their personal vehicles.
