Helene recovery in Fairview: News 13 revisits the area nearly 2 years post-storm

News 13 continues to revisit the hardest-hit areas by Helene ahead of the two-year anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 27.

On Thursday, Sept. 23, News 13’s Holly Headrick will return to Fairview, where she grew up.

That community suffered devastating losses, not just property, but people. As News 13 previously reported, 13 died in the landslides in Craigtown,11 from the same family. Plus, a firefighter and his nephew died while trying to rescue storm victims.

Since then, a grassroots effort has grown into a nonprofit to help families return to safe homes. Hear from Fairview Strong members and Fairview firefighters live starting on News 13 at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
