How to play

Guess the movie in 7 tries.

You start with one clip playing — a scene almost nobody has watched. Every guess or skip unlocks another clip from the same film, and they arrive in order of how well known they are — so the scene everyone remembers comes last. Swipe or use the arrows to go back to any clip you have already unlocked.

The panel under the clip is what we know about the film. It opens with the genres and the year, and gains one more fact every time you miss — the characters, then the director, then one of the cast, and last the runtime, certificate and country. Skipping adds an extra one from the bottom of that list, so a skip buys a fact instead of the comparison a named guess would have given you.

Every wrong guess also tells you how your film compares with the answer on five things: IMDb rating (higher or lower), box office (bigger or smaller), studio, director, and any cast the two films share.

A new clip drops every day at midnight UTC. Solved it? Try Hard Mode: a different film, revealed the slow way — a frame that sharpens, then the scene itself, and a dossier that fills in with one fact per miss. 6 guesses.
