About the service

FastPic is a narrowly specialised project. It was built for hosting screenshots, posters and other images needed when writing threads and posts on forums.

That purpose gives the service several distinctive traits.

First, it has to be fast — which is exactly what the name says. Being as fast as we would like it to be brings a few limits with it; you can see them on the upload page under «view limits». Worth a special mention is the hotlink limit: an image that exceeds the file size or resolution limits cannot be posted without a preview. This keeps the load on our service down and keeps your threads from being weighed down by huge images.

Second, images should be optimised in size. Please tick «Optimize to JPEG» as often as you can.

Third, about user accounts: the old version has no registration, because the hosting was built for forums, where finding your own images in your own posts is easy. The new version does have accounts and albums — they are optional and only there for your convenience.

Note also that viewing and deleting images through «My uploads» is limited to one week from the upload date.
