Walker County is positioned to benefit as Houston’s economy pushes north, but capturing that growth will require investments in workers, water, power and infrastructure, Texas economist Ray Perryman told local business and government leaders last week.

“Houston is definitely going north. There’s no question about that,” Perryman said. “Montgomery County almost stands on its own now as a separate economy. It’s gotten so big and so dynamic and it’s coming this way. I think it’s going to create a whole lot of opportunities for your area as well.”
