What your membership gives you
A verified author identity you own and carry with you — on the CASRAI CRediT reference site (NISO stewards the standard).
A public, ORCID-verified author profile
Indexed at casrai.org/credit/authors — your name, credentials, and CRediT roles on a domain academia cites.
A do-follow link to your own site
Your profile links out to your website and ORCID — a genuine academic-domain link, in the most relevant context there is for author authority.
Your CRediT contribution statements
Declare the 14 standardized contributor roles you perform, each resolving to its canonical role URI.
One resolvable author entity
ORCID + CASRAI + your site, tied together so search engines and AI answer engines resolve a single verified you — the core of E-E-A-T.
Listed in the public directory
Discoverable, in the sitemap, and pinged to search engines via IndexNow the moment you go live.
Editorially reviewed, never auto-approved
A CASRAI editor verifies every journal / role claim — which is exactly what keeps the listing credible.

Why this isn’t pay-to-play
The Verified Contributor Directory is a standards-body directory, not a checkmark you can buy — and membership itself is free. Your ORCID identity is free and required, and every journal / editorial-role claim is reviewed by a human before it appears publicly. That editorial review, not a price tag, is what keeps the listing credible and worth having.
Common questions
Is this “pay to play”? Am I buying a verification badge?
No — membership is free. Your ORCID identity is free and required, and every journal / editor claim is reviewed by a human before it appears publicly; joining alone never publishes a claim or a badge.
What gets reviewed, and how long does it take?
Each journal or editorial-role claim is screened automatically (real domain, allowed sector, no off-site redirect, no dead link), then reviewed by a CASRAI editor — usually within a day. Your profile itself can go live immediately; the journal links appear once approved.
Can I leave? What happens to my profile?
Email [email protected] and we’ll take your listing down. Your ORCID identity is always yours regardless.
What if a journal doesn’t pass the automated check?
You’ll see exactly why (for example it points at a root domain, redirects off-site, or returns 404). Fix the URL and resubmit — or, if it’s a legitimate new or niche title, email [email protected] and we’ll review it manually.
