A woman wanted in three other jurisdictions was arrested Tuesday evening in Mt. Juliet after being stopped for expired tags.
A Mt. Juliet Police officer initially conducted the traffic stop around 9 p.m. on Sept. 22 because the vehicle had an expired registration, but during the encounter, officers discovered the driver, a 35-year-old Nashville woman, was wanted out of Nashville, Brentwood and Macon County.
She was wanted in Nashville and Brentwood for shoplifting, and in Macon County for failure to appear on driving with a revoked license charges. According to MJPD, the license is still revoked.
MJPD did not release the individual’s name, but Wilson County Jail records show Sharita Johnson, 35, of Nashville, was booked on Sept. 22 to be held for another jurisdiction.
MJPD continues to credit proactive police patrols for reduced crime rates in Mt. Juliet, and that the majority of suspects apprehended are from outside of Wilson County.
“Keeping Mt. Juliet safe takes officers who remain alert and proactive around the clock, strong partnerships with other agencies, and a community that continues to support responsible, proactive public safety,” MJPD said.
