The Adventures of Elliot update adds option to turn off support character voices
A new update for The Adventures of Elliot The Millennium Tales is available today that allows players to disable support character voices, such as the Princess Heuria and the Fairy Faie that accompany Elliot on his journey through Philabieldia. Initially there was an option to lower the frequency of the dialogue, but this new option will mute the voices. Version 1.1.0 will also adjust "tutorial behavior" and fix FPS drops on some PC setups when Faie is present, as well as address minor bugs. Currently it's available on steam and will be rolled out to other platforms. The Adventures of Elliot The Millennium Tales will release June 18, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Steam. A free demo is available on each platform. You can read our thoughts about the game in our review. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDLOAO_TNWM   • Preview Gameplay (PlayStation 5)   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgOuJRCWFsI   • Prologue Demo Gameplay (PlayStation 5)

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Review
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales may end up the least of Square Enix's HD-2D offerings, but that speaks less to this game’s quality and more to the high bar established by all those previous projects. Whereas the Octopath Traveler series has given us a modern spin on old-school classic JRPGs, the Dragon Quest remakes have wonderfully returned us to bygone times, and Triangle Strategy has helped keep the isometric spark alive, Elliot isn’t quite the HD-2D action-RPG pinnacle that it could have been.  Naturally for a game with this somewhat cumbersome title, The Adventures of Elliot stars—who else?—an adventurer named Elliot. Decked out in unmistakably Final Fantasy red mage garb, Elliot is a likable, if fairly shallow, protagonist who spends his days helping folks in need and tipping his hat like the stylish hero he is.  Elliot starts off with little more than a sword, a shield, and a commitment to the cause. But soon enough, you’ll unlock a spear, a bow, a boomerang, a hammer, and more. A couple of hours into the roughly 25-hour tale, a fairy named Faie joins up, and she eventually gains a slew of neat magic spells to supplement Elliot’s arsenal. On the one

The Adventures of Elliot The Millennium Tales details the Age of Budding and more fairy magic
In The Adventures of Elliot The Millennium Tales, players will take on the role of the titular Elliot—an adventurer from the land of Philabieldia accompanied by the magical fairy Faie. Together they'll travel into different eras in time in order to save their home from destruction. The HD-2D action RPG features a wide variety of weapons and magicite to collect, with an emphasis on exploration. Today, we learn more about one of the four eras Elliot and Faie will travel to: the Age of Budding. Here, in the earliest of the four eras, they'll meet those living in an early human settlement and about the rising conflict with the beastmen tribes and the magic-wielding Myū. It appears this age is a pivotal point in Philabieldia's history. We also get a further look at some of the fairy magic Faie can invoke, such as fire spells to light torches, vaccuum spells to collect items, and even a spell to copy Elliot himself. It'll be important that Elliot and Faie use their abilities synergistically to overcome the game's challenges. Recently, we had a chance to check out a portion of the game further past the Prologue Demo's content, and you can read our preview impressions

Accompanying him is the fairy Faie, who uses her magic to help Elliot in his quest. Recently, we had a chance to preview a section of the game (a different section than the demo) and our report also includes insights from producer Naofumi Matsushita on why the team known primarily for turn-based RPGs wanted to give an action RPG a spin. The Adventures of Elliot The Millennium Tales Preview
In the last several weeks, Square Enix invited us to check out The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, a game currently in development by Team Asano (helmed by division lead Tomoya Asano)  and co-developer Claytechworks. The game is the latest in the company's line of the company's “HD-2D” games featuring a presentation where 2D sprites are used alongside 3D environments, with the aim of evoking the pixelated visuals of console generations past, but in a format that would better serve consumers' adoption of HD displays. Nearly eight years after Team Asano’s debut HD-2D title Octopath Traveler released, Square Enix has produced a bevy of remasters, remakes and original titles in the same (or similar) style. And—they’ve been popular, with its flagship Octopath Traveler series recently surpassing seven million sales. So, it stands to reason that Team Asano has endeavored to continue producing HD-2D games, with Elliot the latest in its line. However, this time the team has opted to create something different than their usual turn-based RPG fare, and this new action RPG with a heavy emphasis on exploration and puzzles is something we asked producer Naoufmi Matsushita about. According to him: "When we began thinking about creating the latest entry
