Dover Athletic Saddened by Passing of James Walker

Dover Athletic Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Whites forward James Walker, aged 38.

James joined Dover Athletic in 2011 and was part of the first-team squad during the 2011/12 Conference South campaign.

He made 27 league appearances for the Whites, scoring six goals during his time at Crabble, before continuing his career elsewhere in non-league football.

A product of Charlton Athletic’s academy, James enjoyed a long career in the professional game, representing clubs including Hartlepool United, Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient, Notts County, Yeovil Town, Southend United, Hereford United and Gillingham.

He also represented England at youth level before later earning a senior international cap for Antigua and Barbuda.

Everyone at Dover Athletic sends their sincere condolences to James’ family, friends, former teammates and all those who knew him.

Rest in peace, James.
