2040022>. Minimum update was 1ms - seriously - and hand verified that the value was in fact changing on that timescale. Average was 6ms and median was 4ms. Perhaps my Cayman ECU increases update rate on this signal when under load, not sure. But the chart above makes clear the changes are catching real vehicle behavior on miniscule timescales.

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/z967dareumwj3eoij269x/Histogram-of-CAN-Brake-pressure-Sonoma-T7-4-seconds-684-rows-avg-6msec.png?rlkey=afkrplsqxnw1i0ukttw5ni52b&st=uo3h68am&dl=0

So yes CAN bus is staggeringly faster. In part because it's a broadcast-only system unlike OBD which is request/response transaction based, and in part because a single CAN message can mux up to 20 (or more!) different pieces of data into a single transmission. I have two OBDLink MX+ capturing different CAN bus and another OBDLink MX+ capturing OBD and RaceChrono is happily grabbing all of it on single millisecond timescales on an iPhone 17. My per-session CSVv3 output files are regularly pushing 250MB no problem.

Really nice work @aol!

(you really need to add native image support for Forum posts - can't figure out why these links are breaking)

Line numbers count LF bytes from the start of the resource, as the search results do. Vendor segments are library code the classifier recognised; they are stored but not indexed. Bytes are shown as Latin1 characters, one per byte.
