It had been so long since I began experiencing depression, I had become numb to how I was feeling and kind of accepted that this was how I was always going to be. You have all these stereotypes in your head of what MDD looks like, but what it looked like for me was a decent job, a good salary, being married with children—but I was still feeling miserable."},{"category":"AUVELITY Journey","title":"Was there a particular moment or experience that motivated you to find a new treatment?","copy":"It was when my kids moved out. I was facing the future with my husband, thinking, “OK, it’s been nice raising these kids with you—now what?” I knew if I didn’t get my head in a better place, we could very easily end up not staying together. I couldn’t bear the thought of losing him. He said I should try something that works differently. We talked about some of the most common side effects I might experience, including dizziness, headaches, diarrhea, feeling sleepy—and some of the more serious side effects, such as seizures, increased blood pressure, and the potential for manic episodes. At first, I experienced some dizziness, so I spoke to my doctor, who said my dizziness could subside with time.
