The church is characterized as family-oriented and welcomes all ages, with a strong commitment to expository teaching that emphasizes verse-by-verse exposition through entire books of the Bible. Led by Pastor/Elder Jim Osman as the primary teaching pastor alongside fellow elders Cornel Rasor and Simon Pranaitis the church maintains an extensive preaching and teaching ministry that includes multiple podcast series covering systematic studies through biblical books such as Hebrews, John, and James. The church offers Sunday School programs, weekly sermon podcasts, and hosts special conferences including women's conferences and equipping conferences, demonstrating their commitment to comprehensive biblical education and spiritual growth for their congregation and broader community.","location":{"@id":"https://kootenaichurch.org/#place"}},{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https://kootenaichurch.org/#website","url":"https://kootenaichurch.org","name":"Kootenai Community Church","alternateName":"Kootenai Church","publisher":{"@id":"https://kootenaichurch.org/#organization"},"inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://kootenaichurch.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/headphones-music.jpeg","url":"https://kootenaichurch.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/headphones-music.jpeg","width":"1200","height":"800","caption":"headphones-music","inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://kootenaichurch.org/news/kootenai-music-playlists-on-spotify-and-apple-music/#webpage","url":"https://kootenaichurch.org/news/kootenai-music-playlists-on-spotify-and-apple-music/","name":"Kootenai Music Playlists On Spotify And Apple Music | Kootenai Church","datePublished":"2021-03-31T13:00:16-07:00","dateModified":"2023-07-08T08:17:39-07:00","isPartOf":{"@id":"https://kootenaichurch.org/#website"},"primaryImageOfPage":{"@id":"https://kootenaichurch.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/headphones-music.jpeg"},"inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"Person","@id":"https://kootenaichurch.org/author/peaceharbor/","name":"J. 815
There has been some discussion in recent weeks among several members within our church body regarding music. Not just music that we sing in our worship service, but music that we listen to throughout the week at home, work, or in the car. There seems to be an underlying theme in many of these conversations: what are the good, biblically sound, theologically rich music artists, songs, or albums that you recommend?

816
If you’ve attended Kootenai Church for any period of time, you know that the music we sing during our worship service is theologically rich and doctrinally s
816ound. We often go through our song list and weed out songs that aren’t necessarily bad to sing, but just don’t offer the depth that we are looking for in our music. This is an ongoing process that we continue to fine-tune and refine.

817
The new music we add to our list is put through a series of checks for proper theology, authorship, and other relevant reference points. Perhaps more on this in a different blog post later. As you can imagine, there are probably more songs and artists that we choose not to sing, than ones we do.

818
I have come to appreciate the hard work that artists such as Bob Kauflin, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Andrew Peterson, Stuart Townend, and others have put into their songwriting efforts. The church has benefited greatly from their God-given musical talents.

819
Many of you use Spotify or Apple Music quite often for your music choices. Both platforms give the ability to create and share playlists with others. I have created five playlists filled with trusted songs designed for those who are looking for good, wholesome music to listen to.

820
They are broken down as follows:

821

822
Kootenai Christmas – Self-explanatory, and hopefully you don’t start listening to this playlist until the day after Thanksgiving.

823
Kootenai Instrumental – Music from artists like Fernando Ortega, Jeff Lippencott, R.C. Sproul, and others.

824
Kootenai Kids – Tailored for children by artists like Sovereign Grace, Keith & Kristyn Getty, and The Corner Room.

825
Kootenai Worship – Songs that we sing during the music portion of our morning worship.

826
Kootenai Christmas Worship – Christmas songs that we sing during the portion of our morning worship.

827
Kootenai Music – Albums by artists such as Keith & Kristyn Getty, Sovereign Grace, Norton Hall Band, CityAlight, and more.

828
Kootenai Psalms – Psalms by various artists

829
Kootenai Hymns – Hymns by various artists

830

831
These playlists will change over time as songs, albums, and artists will be added or deleted. I have added links below to both the Spotify and Apple Music playlists. While Apple Music requires a subscription of $9.99/mo., Spotify does have a free option, but you will hear a brief ad approximately every few songs. If you want to go ad-free, Spotify does have a premium option to remove ads starting at $9.99/mo., similar to Apple Music. Both offer free trials of their ad-free subscriptions. May the music found on these playlists deepen your love for God, exalt the name of Christ, and edify His church! Happy listening!
