It offers insight into Beatrice&#x27;s thoughts and the events leading up to the hotel tour, making it a valuable record for understanding not only Tower of Terror itself but the broader world of American Waterfront area in greater depth.</p><p>The multiple entries dated August 22, 1912, in the latter half of this diary are linked to the “Hotel Tour Game,” which can also be played on TOT1899.com, and they reveal Beatrice&#x27;s feelings that were never expressed in the game itself.</p></div></section></main><!--$--><!--/$--><footer class="relative mt-16 border-t border-[rgba(239,226,194,0.18)] bg-[linear-gradient(180deg,rgba(7,6,5,0.92),rgba(18,14,10,0.96))]"><div aria-hidden="true" class="pointer-events-none absolute inset-0 bg-[radial-gradient(circle_at_14%_18%,rgba(169,131,60,0.12),transparent_22%),linear-gradient(90deg,rgba(255,255,255,0.03),transparent_18%,transparent_82%,rgba(255,255,255,0.03))]"></div><div class="relative mx-auto flex w-[min(1280px,94vw)] flex-col items-start gap-4 px-1 py-7 md:gap-5 md:py-9"><p class="text-[13px] leading-[1.9] text-[#a99b78]">This unofficial, non-commercial site is independently operated and is not affiliated with Tokyo Disney Resort or Oriental Land Co., Ltd. He did not even notice.\nBeneath the title “Hightower III: The True Adventure Story” was an illustration of a bearded man riding an elephant. It was the very same Hightower III I had seen in parade when I was eight!\n\nI secretly hid that magazine in a hiding place in the attic and became utterly absorbed in the adventures of Hightower III written there.\nThose stories were more exciting than any history book I had ever read!\nI decided then and there, “I shall keep this magazine for the rest of my life!” and hid it inside an old trunk where no one would find it.13:T43a,At midnight on New Year's Eve, there was an explosion at Hotel Hightower!\nI saw it with my own eyes!\n\nJust a few minutes before the new year, I was sitting by the attic window watching people all over the city count down to midnight.\nThen, all at once, every light in the hotel went out, and a few seconds later, just as the clock struck twelve, the window at the very top of the hotel glowed green!\nI cried out before I knew it!\n\nThat was Mr. Hightower's room!\nAfter that, the green light pierced the hotel and fell downward, illuminating the window glass from the inside. I had never seen anything like it.\nThen the great front windows of the hotel burst outward with the explosion!\nPeople's screams were almost drowned out by the blast.\n\nSoon I could hear the bells and sirens of the fire engines, but aside from a single plume of smoke rising from Mr. Hightower's room, there was no sign of fire in the hotel.\nIt was as if all life had been sucked out of it, leaving the hotel in utter darkness.\nI felt so sorry for the people who were there. It must have been truly terrifying!14:T4e7,Today I met a most interesting old man.\nI was sketching Hotel Hightower in the park when he approached me. His face looks pale and wrinkled, his white beard had grown long, and his body was terribly thin.\nHe wore a filthy top hat and a coat covered in patches.\nHe seemed frightened of something, and yet when he spoke to me he was very polite and looked kind.\n\nMy sketch gave us an excuse to speak, and we ended up sharing our affection for the hotel.\nHis name is Archie, and it seems he comes to the park often just to look at it.\nLong ago he worked at Hotel Hightower as a cook's assistant, but when the hotel closed he lost his job, and now he lives with his sister in Brooklyn.\n\nI told him about the various women's groups I've been involved with.\nHe listened politely even when I spoke of helping with part of the interior design for Father's new ship, the S.S. Columbia, which is still under construction.\nBut before long he steered the conversation back to the hotel.\n\nArchie knew so much about the place that I found myself taking notes without meaning to.\nRecently I have been thinking of writing about the history of Hotel Hightower.\nThe next time I see Archie, I shall ask his advice.\nWith his help, I may even learn the hotel's finest details.15:T514,Today is my birthday.\nFather held a birthday party for me, and all my friends and my sisters celebrated

Columbia's dining room is finally coming together.\n\nTo honor the Panama Canal now being built in Central America, I mean to make beautiful tropical imagery the theme.\nThe canal will not be completed until 1914, but once it is, I am certain it will bring prosperity to our shipping business beyond anything we imagine.\nThat is why I have decided to paint a mural in the waiting room of the S.S. Columbia sailing through the Panama Canal with a majestic sun behind her.\nI also want the mural to call former President Teddy Roosevelt to mind, since he devoted himself to advancing the canal's construction.\n\nIn the main dining room I plan to incorporate designs of palm trees and leaves, and even place a grand piano there.\n\nEven so, I am truly delighted that Father chose me to direct this enormous project.\nThough of course it has made me terribly busy.\nWhen Father told me that Archie's plan to acquire Hotel Hightower had failed, I scarcely had time to dwell on it.\nHe said that several owners refused to sell, but never mind. In time they can be persuaded.17:T453,Father is a rotten liar!\nI thought he trusted my abilities and had entrusted me with the ship's interiors and the maiden voyage celebration.\nBut I was wrong.\nHe only kept me busy so I would look away from what he was truly planning!\n\nThe truth is that Father has already finished buying up all the land beneath Hotel Hightower, and he intends to tear the whole place down!\nAnd on that site he has been plotting to build a new hotel called the Endicott Grand Hotel.\nHe must know how deeply I love Hotel Hightower, so how can he do something so cruel?\n\nIt seems not even the collapse of Hightower's empire and his strange disappearance were enough to satisfy Father.\nHe means to destroy every building that bears the Hightower name!\n\nI was so overwhelmed that I ran from the house in tears.\nBut now my tears have dried up, and all I feel is anger!\nI am sitting on a bench in the park trying to think of a way to save Hotel Hightower, but not a single good idea comes to me.\nIt is growing dark, and I feel terribly alone.\nBut I cannot go home and face Father now.\nI feel as though my head will split with rage!18:T497,After spending the night shivering on a park bench, I awoke to find Archie resting beneath a nearby tree.\nHe had laid his coat over me.\nWhen I tearfully told him what I had learned yesterday, even he was furious.\nThe two of us put our heads together and came up with a countermeasure to stop Father's plan.\n\nArchie's idea was inspired by the fact that I have many influential friends: we would found an organization to protect old buildings of historical and artistic value, the New York City Preservation Society.\nAnd while the city council debated a new law to protect old buildings, we would work to stop the demolition of Hotel Hightower!\n\nI left Archie in the park and hurried home, then spent the entire day persuading Iris and all my friends.\nI told everyone how important it was to create laws protecting historic buildings and begged them to join the Preservation Society.\nMy ent"])</script>

6<script>self.__next_f.push([1,"Today I met Strang and told him about the New York City Preservation Society's work in the hotel. He might write a mocking piece about the Society, but something about him made me feel I could trust him.\n\nWhen I told him about the warehouse we found, he grew excited.\nHe had heard rumors that Mr. Hightower stole from rival collectors, and asked whether I had seen anything there of that sort.\nSo we compared his notes with mine, and several objects missing from museums and collections worldwide matched perfectly!\nMy opinion of Mr. Hightower's character has sunk even lower.\n\nThe biggest news is that Strang and I had met before. At the New Year's Eve party in 1899, I spoke with him while he was disguised as a waiter. That was not all.\nThe “young man” who came to our house when I was fourteen and dropped Mr. Hightower's adventure magazine was him too!\nIt was that magazine, and his fight against Mr. Hightower's wrongdoing, that first led me to admire Mr. Hightower, so the irony is exquisite. We laughed heartily. His smile was truly charming.\n\nWhat am I saying? If he has his way, Hotel Hightower will be demolished!\nI tried explaining to Manfred... no, Strang, that many of history's greatest monuments were built by tyrants, yet that does not lessen their importance or beauty, but he would not understand.\n\nFor some reason, I invited him to the hotel tour the day after tomorrow. He accepted at once. Imagine luring an enemy into one's own territory...\nStill, if he sees it with his own eyes, he may yet come to love Hotel Hightower too."])</script>
