128<p>Formed in 1996 by partners Anthony Coupe, Steve Loo, Jen Smit, and Felicity Sando with the aim of working with communities and private clients to develop good places; places that respond to their environment, their historical context, and embody a strong sense of place. Whether the project is a house, a town square, an office or museum, we apply the same inventive enthusiasm and expertise. We are excited by the possibilities and challenges inherent within each project.</p>
129<p>We continuously refine our design philosophy through our work, research, and teaching at universities. We draw upon the diverse experience and expertise of the partnership to provide a strong knowledge base for each project.</p>

132<p>Our approach relies strongly on consultation, with intensive information gathering, establishing needs, and client briefings. We like to spend time on-site understanding the microclimate, the landscape, traces of past occupation and people we are designing for.</p>
133<p>Our process is highly collaborative. Working closely with clients, consultant team, and the broader community we strive to produce designs that are innovative, popular and relevant. Situated within a collaborative framework and a broader community context, projects become both economically and culturally sustainable, with their longer-term viability assured.</p>
134<p>Over recent years the Studio has gained a strong reputation in designing innovative museums, memorials, exhibitions and the adaptation of heritage sites, with national and international requests for commissions.</p>
