990 The Development Kit is a complete package ready to use.
991 The LCD, interface board, and expansion connectors are all designed to match with CodeVisionAVR Advanced perfectly. There is no need for soldering, testing, checking schematics, searching the web, …
992 The CodeVisionAVR libraries are match to the Development Kit hardware perfectly without the need for complicated or difficult to understand configurations. There are several examples included which match the Development Kit perfectly without configuration settions, they are guaranteed to work.
993
994 High speed graphic libraries
995 CodeVisionAVR includes a RA8875 hardware accelerated lilbrary optimised for maximum performance. You get the maximum possible communication speed between LCD and CPU, without understanding SPI low level hardware.
996
997 Hardware SPI bus
998 The Development Kit always uses a hardware SPI bus. Some generic libraries use a much slower software simulated SPI bus to maintain compatibility with hundreds of LCD modules.
999 The SDCard library works perfectly with the Development Kit graphic library on the same SPI bus.
1000 The RA8875 driver is known for its SPI compatibility issues, these have been solved on the Development Kit module.
1001
1002 No-solder hardware using proven parts
1003 The Development Kit combines well-known parts to a single product. There is no need for soldering. It’s a ready-to-go package.
1004 You get the complete package from one supplier, there is no need to place different orders at different websites to get your complete product.
1015
1033 What are the RA8875 benefits
1034

1035
less I/O pins needed because touchscreen & backlight support are integrated

1036
hardware accelerations for graphic primitives

1037
build-in fonts, support for user font, support for external font chips

1038
hardware block transfer engine / hardware scrolling / hardware cursor / hardware patterns / layer support

1039
8-bit color support

1040

1041 Which power inputs are available
1042

1043
The Development Kit can be powered directly from your computer USB port. Some computer USB ports will not supply enough power for the 9.0 LCD. In that case you’ll need to use an alternative power input.

1044
Every XG8800 has one POWER Grove connector which can be used as a power input (+5V only !!)

1045
Connecting the Grove connector power input and the USB port simultaneously is not allowed.

1046

1047 Do you offer a capacitive touchscreen
1048 Currently we do not. If you place a minimum order of 100 pcs we will make the necessary changes to the Development Kit module.
1049
1050 Do you offer other LCD sizes and LCD resolutions
1051 The module design can support 1.8" to 10.1" LCD's. If you require any particular size or resolution feel free to contact us.
1052
1053 Can I add fonts and graphics
1054 The library includes several standard fonts and the RA8875 also has build-in fonts. But you can add any font or graphic to your code using the CodeVisionAVR font convertor. Graphics (jpg/png/bmp/...) need to be converted and can be stored in memory or on the SDcard.
1410 Where can I find the CodeVisionAVR User Manual?
1411 Just download it: cvavrman.zip
1412
1413 How do I setup the software?
1414 CodeVisionAVR V3 is designed to be used both in its own IDE and also as an Extension in Atmel Studio 7 or the older 6.2.1563. It is compatible with all Windows® versions down to XP. For the Atmel Studio Extension to be installed correctly, Atmel Studio must be already present on the computer, before the CodeVisionAVR installer is launched.
1414
1415 Note that while installing and using CodeVisionAVR you must be logged in as Administrator.
1416 You must uninstall any Atmel Studio version older then 6.2.1563 and remove all remaining files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel BEFORE running the CodeVisionAVR installer.
1417
1418 I get a warning from my virus scanner while installing CodeVisionAVR !
1419 CodeVisionAVR is protected by WinLicense from Oreans Technologies. This protection may trigger false alarms in some antivirurses like BitDefender, ESET, AVAST or AVG, preventing CodeVisionAVR from being executed. In such cases you need to add the whole CodeVisionAVR installation \BIN folder to the antivirus file
1420 exclusion list.
1421
1422 Is Atmel Studio required?
1423 No it is not. You can use CodeVisionAVR in its own IDE. For debuging you can also use the AVR Studio 4.19 debugger.
1424
