Though coding is my hobby, I enjoy accounting and investing too. I find&nbsp;<i>dual-entry accounting </i>very fascinating. Sometimes, we wear the hat of Sherlock Holmes and find answers by inspecting balance-sheets. We develop a hypothesis and validate them by looking through the accounts.<br></div><div><br></div><h2>Investing<br></h2><div>My Dad has been investing into listed companies for more than 40 years. He hand-holded my brother and me into investing. He taught us the concepts of <i>margin of safety</i>, valuations and the art of reading balance-sheets.<br></div><div><br></div><div>I also learnt a lot about investing by attending classes of Prof. Sanjay Bakshi. He taught us&nbsp;<i>reading.</i><br></div><div><br></div><h2>Getting lucky with Screener<br></h2><div>I was lucky to be at the right place at the right time. It was 2009. Internet was getting started. Most of the financial filings were becoming digital. Web-development was evolving with new technologies, languages and frameworks. I boarded that train, by luck, and it took me through a fabulous journey.<br></div><div><br></div><div>I got to make Screener.in which has become pretty popular since then. We get around 2-4 million users per week. It is among the 150 most used websites in India.<br></div><div><br></div><div>It is the playground where I get to experiment the technologies that come :).<br></div><div><br></div><h2>Tech<br></h2><div>Ah! My favorite topic. I love to talk about softwares and gadgets. This is what this blog is about.<br></div></div>
