Hence we thought of 3 linking courses that go together building on the foundations and then going in for the electives.</li></ul> <h3 class="svelte-83awcy">Why do an NPTEL Domain?</h3> <ul class="svelte-83awcy"><li class="svelte-83awcy">To Gain Expertise/Foundations in an Area of Interest</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">Gain Mastery to pursue Higher Education</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">Become more Employable for Jobs in your Opted Area</li></ul> <p>Completing a domain helps to gain expertise in a specific area. This can be helpful for learners who wish to work in a particular area as part of their job or research. Eg: VLSI or Power 4 Electronics domain in Electrical Engineering Apart from this, for students in colleges, getting a domain certificate, which involves completing the specified 5 or 6 courses would indicate to 5 recruiters about how motivated and independent learner you are to become a domain scholar. Eg: Programming or Data Science domain in Computer Science Engg Learners preparing for competitive exams 6 such as GATE etc can also benefit by doing the Minors defined in various disciplines. Eg The minors in Chemical Engineering discipline</p> <h3 class="svelte-83awcy">How to Study from a Domain?</h3> <ol class="svelte-83awcy"><li class="svelte-83awcy">Every domain will comprise Core courses and Elective courses.</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">The learner has to complete and pass all the core courses listed.</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">The student can take electives from the list of choices available as specified as required for the domain and should pass these courses too.</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">The Final score in any of the courses in a domain should not be < 55.</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">Average of all courses in the domain should be >= 60.</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">Every domain also has another parameter - number of weeks of learning that have to be completed.</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">A candidate is supposed to have completed a domain when the number of core and elective courses defined have been completed (passed as per course criteria and Final score in each >= 55 with 7 average >=60) AND the sum of the duration of the courses taken in the domain >= number of weeks of learning specified.</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">It is recommended that the domain be completed within a period of 3 years from the date of starting the first course.</li> <li class="svelte-83awcy">If the same course is listed in different domains, then it will be counted in only one domain for calculation</li></ol></section>`,1);function b(i){var e=u(),a=s(o(e),2),t=s(c(a),2);d(a),h(8),l(()=>m(t,"src",p)),r(i,e)}export{b as component};
