Her husband was a political leader.The military Intelligence went to their house looking for him but as they didn't find him they took Ma Le and her 2 year-old baby instead of him. She was arrested in July 1999 by the Myanmar Military Intelligence. The baby was released 2 months later and raised with his grandparents. She wasn't allow to see him until 3 years later. She was tortured physically and psychologically, prevented from sitting down, eating and drinking as a way of torture. Isolated into shadows and silence. Judged in fake court with no defence and condemned to 10 years under the detainee number MMY-001465 in Bago Prison first and after in Insein Central Prison in Rangoon. She was released on 2009. She was about to suicide herself but didn't give up and escaped the country to Thailand for continuous threatening to her and her family. Her husband abandoned her and escaped to US where he married another woman and had 3 children. Each time she tries to call he hangs the phone. She says that as long she has two feet and two hands she can work and survive. Judged in fake court with no defence and condemned to 10 years under the detainee number MMY-001465 in Bago Prison first and after in Insein Central Prison in Rangoon. She was released on 2009. She was about to suicide herself but didn't give up and escaped the country to Thailand for continuous threatening to her and her family. Her husband abandoned her and escaped to US where he married another woman and had 3 children. Each time she tries to call he hangs the phone.
