There are two ways to do this. </p><h2 class="text-xl font-semibold text-gray-900 mt-8 mb-4">Option 1 â Delete from inside the app (recommended)</h2><p class="text-gray-600 leading-relaxed mb-4"> The fastest way is from within the Selah app: </p><ol class="list-decimal list-inside text-gray-600 mb-4 space-y-2"><li>Open Selah on your iPhone or Android device.</li><li>Tap the <strong>Account</strong> tab (person icon, bottom navigation).</li><li>Scroll to the bottom and tap <strong>Delete account</strong>.</li><li>Confirm in the dialog that appears.</li></ol><p class="text-gray-600 leading-relaxed mb-4"> Your account and all data are deleted immediately and you are signed out. </p><h2 class="text-xl font-semibold text-gray-900 mt-8 mb-4">Option 2 â Email us</h2><p class="text-gray-600 leading-relaxed mb-4"> If you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address you used to sign up: </p><p class="text-gray-900 font-medium mb-4"><a href="mailto:[email protected]?subject=Delete%20my%20Selah%20account" class="underline hover:no-underline">[email protected]</a></p><p class="text-gray-600 leading-relaxed mb-4"> Use the subject line <em>"Delete my Selah account"</em> and include the email address tied to your Selah account in the body. We will delete the account within 7 business days and reply to confirm. </p><h2 class="text-xl font-semibold text-gray-900 mt-8 mb-4">What is deleted</h2><p class="text-gray-600 leading-relaxed mb-4"> When you delete your account, we permanently remove: </p><ul class="list-disc list-inside text-gray-600 mb-4 space-y-2"><li>Your account record (email address, optional first name, password hash)</li><li>All authentication tokens (you are signed out everywhere)</li><li>Your learning progress (verses started, mastered, exercise history)</li><li>Your planner queue and any custom passages</li><li>Your settings (translation, reminder times)</li><li>Any feedback you submitted from inside the app</li></ul><h2 class="text-xl font-semibold text-gray-900 mt-8 mb-4">What is retained (and for how long)</h2><p class="text-gray-600 leading-relaxed mb-4"> Selah retains only the following after account deletion: </p><ul class="list-disc list-inside text-gray-600 mb-4 space-y-2"><li><strong>Encrypted server backups</strong> â our database backups are retained for up to 30 days for disaster recovery, after which deleted account data is no longer recoverable from any backup.</li><li><strong>Anonymized server logs</strong> â request logs do not contain your account details and may persist in operational logs for up to 90 days before automatic rotation.</li></ul><p class="text-gray-600 leading-relaxed mb-4"> We do not retain your name, email, password, or learning progress beyond the rotation of these backups. </p><h2 class="text-xl font-semibold text-gray-900 mt-8 mb-4">Children's accounts</h2><p class="text-gray-600 leading-relaxed mb-4"> Selah is not directed at children under 13.
