This is one of the most prominent temples in Himachal Pradesh and one of the most popular all over India. It is believed that whatever vow is prayed here manifests in reality.[1] The much older Aadi Himani Chamunda which is also the original shrine, is situated at the hilltop, making it difficult for pilgrims to reach. Thus, this temple was constructed around 400 years ago for the ease of the believers.</p>\n \n <p>This ancient temple is said to have been constructed in the 16th century and has considerable spiritual legend attached to it. According to one folklore, a 16th Century king and a priest prayed to the goddess Chamunda, asking for her consent to shift the idol to a more accessible location. The legend suggests that the goddess appeared in the priest&apos;s dream and suggested him the exact location from where the idol would be found. The tall mountains are rich in geography with a lot of myths and history attached to them. It is also the birthplace of Indian history and folklore as many important Hindu events took place in the swinging valleys of the Himalayas. There are so many historical spots in Himachal that you will be exhausted before you count them on your fingers!\n One such amazing historical spot is the Maa Brijeshwari Dhaam in Kangra district. The temple is one of the 51 auspicious Shakti Peeths in Hinduism. It stands for the fierceness of Bholenath, the sacrifice of Sati Maa, and the bhakti of Pandavas. Visiting this holy site is a must in every true Hindu pilgrimage to the Himalayas.\n It is said that in ancient times when gods resided on Earth, Shiv and Sati got married against their father’s wishes. The next events are a sad tale of rejection by her father and insults hurled at Lord Shiv. What follows is the sacrifice of Sati as she burns herself in the Yagya out of grief. Shiv was aghast by such behaviour of her father and couldn’t handle the grief. So, he assumes his most fierce form, opens his third eye, and dances the annihilating and destroying the world. Lord Vishnu stops him from doing so by taking Sati’s body away from him, dividing it into 51 parts and scattering it all over the Earth. Her left breast fell in Kangra which is today the Maa Brijeshwari Dhaam.\n Another legend says that the Pandavas were ordered by Goddess Durga in their dream to construct a beautiful temple dedicated to her in Nagarkot. They toiled hard to get the goddess’s blessings and constructed a temple overnight at the ordered site. \n Regardless of the stories, this temple is magnificent in architecture. McLeodganj is one such village. The place is such an epitome of natural beauty that it enamours the onlooker with its vast green plains in a backdrop of icy mountain peaks and blue sky. The village is a popular tourist attraction and pilgrimage for Tibetan Buddhists. \n McLeodganj became a prominent settlement during British Rule in India. McLeodganj, formerly known as the Dhauladhar Range, was given that name in honour of Sir Donald Friell McLeod, a 19th-century British Lieutenant-Governor of Punjab. It was established as a summer retreat for the British Raj, with its cool and refreshing climate providing a respite from the oppressive heat of the Indian plains.\n But McLeod Ganj truly came into
1its own in 1959, when His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama fled Tibet and made it his temporary home. Since then, the town has been a hub for Tibetan culture, religion, and politics, and has become known as "Little Lhasa" or "Dhasa" for short.\n Visitors to McLeod Ganj can explore the colourful Tibetan market, where vendors sell everything from prayer flags and thangka paintings to traditional clothing and handicrafts. They can also visit the Tsuglagkhang Complex, the temple and residence of the Dalai Lama, where they can witness the daily rituals and prayer ceremonies of the Tibetan community.\n The most popular tourist destinations of McLeodganj are Bhagsu Falls, Namgyal Monastery, Bhagsunag Temple, and Triund. You can go around and have a photo shoot in the snowy flats of Triund. Bhagsu Falls is a calming waterfall that flows among large stones and trees from the top of the mountain. There are two pilgrimage sites called Namgyal Monastery and Bhagsunag Temple that attract Hindu, Buddhist, and Gorkha Nepali pilgrims alike. The Namgyal Monastery is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It is evidence of ancient glory and finesse when we talk about art, architecture, and unbreakable faith. \n This temple is 45 km away from Dharamshala and 35 km away from Kangra Valley. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, Rock Cut Temple has ancient Hindu architecture with a shikhara and a pool of water. It also has

Skilled ancient artisans carved the rock until the mesmerising structure of this temple emerged. \n        From a pilgrim’s perspective, this temple is primarily dedicated to Lord Shiva but you will find sculptures of other gods inside. This temple is a good example of experiencing Vedic and Puranic tales through sculptures.\n        The temple is surely a must-visit place if you truly want to witness the skill and hard work of ancient Indian artisans. It is one of the holiest sites in Sikhism, alongside the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Kartarpur, and Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib.\n\n        The man-made pool on the site of the temple was completed by the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das, in 1577.\n         In 1604, Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru, placed a copy of the Adi Granth in Harmandir Sahib and is the prominent figure in the development of gurudwara who built it in the 16th century. \n        \n        The Gurdwara was repeatedly rebuilt by the Sikhs after it became a target of persecution and was destroyed several times by the Mughal and invading Afghan armies. Maharaja Ranjit Singh, after founding the Sikh Empire, rebuilt it in marble and copper in 1809, and overlaid the sanctum with gold leaf in 1830. This has led to the name the Golden Temple.\n        \n        The Golden Temple is spiritually the most significant shrine in Sikhism. It became a centre of the Singh Sabha Movement between 1883 and 1920s, and the Punjabi Suba movement between 1947 and 1966. In the early 1980s, the Gurdwara became a centre of conflict between the Indian government and a movement led by Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.\n        \n        The Golden Temple is an open house of worship for all people, from all walks of life and faiths. It has a square plan with four entrances, and a circumambulation path around the pool. The four entrances to the gurudwara symbolises the Sikh belief in equality and the Sikh view that all people are welcome into their holy place.\n        \n        Temple Timings\n        \n        Monday to Sunday\n        Temple open at 5:00 AM\n        Temple closes at 10:00 PM.\n        \n        Get your outstation cab for Golden Temple from us!",gallery:[{src:"/_next/static/media/photo frame (1).5f7d6f76.png",height:192,width:310,blurDataURL:"data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAgAAAAFCAYAAAB4ka1VAAAApElEQVR42gWATQvBYACAn729iEKvzzgopuTu4OrsT/gRfoCf5qZclFyG0nxc5nPZNJu9k9GdzGKlSmJQL9DJatLJDxl6bP2E1SPScmruRS6VY2F5tPJ7xkOXp21hBwMqtZEQl3uE93bZWWs2xyU6PCHLVUrqRZszMmt8cG4Rbx96DZPAvhNyxXclKaWRqljQztcTfbPJxwh4+RkOTp3zE+b5WP8BPGpGUPpWZjEAAAAASUVORK5CYII=",blurWidth:8,blurHeight:5},{src:"/_next/static/media/photo frame (2).85db205b.png",height:192,width:310,blurDataURL:"data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAgAAAAFCAYAAAB4ka1VAAAAsElEQVR4nAGlAFr/AYpmRP3W09ICSl1kAEZMVgD7+vUAubWtAMCxrgASGiH+AZV2Vv/K3uMAHRIFAEhEMgD5+fkAprHPAPz7+ABBNjoAAZRqQ/8CA/wACggHAPkDBwD29/gABP7+APT4/AAEAAwAAbV8QP/c2/AA5+TQAB4kFgATCBcA9ef5AAEaIAAMDvUAAa6DUf3X5PsC9fLtAOfxBQAZBfoA+vH8ACA5NwAaBuX+F6BGs7RUC4gAAAAASUVORK5CYII=",blurWidth:8,blurHeight:5},{src:"/_next/static/media/photo frame (3).d6a6db01.png",height:192,width:310,blurDataURL:"data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAgAAAAFCAYAAAB4ka1VAAAAnklEQVR42gWAvQ7BQACAv54TQi1EiJ/JToxmk1czireRmCUWi8EgBPGTVnG4Ntq7ijOZjo1az0SifIolF5HJoJ4vrFuj0h1Zqe430ak+yDclXmCQ0qFdTvkScwo8Ie/nI+1GHf0TVHpDHAz+Zk6cgk400oYBy10WX0sGZoWbK7LYGgq5iHzpgPQ+jkUrEV3e7At9Ym/L63ok7bQIhbV/OohIHcqHrMMAAAAASUVORK5CYII=",blurWidth:8,blurHeight:5}
