Podcasts and inexpensive computer software made home recording and broadcasting of radio drama popular (even if it wasn't technically on the radio). Horror programs were a big benificiary. Gone were the "gate keepers" who monitored shows for content like violence and gore. The result are some very "cutting edge" shows. Gone also were any official standards of quality. Some are considered offensive by more traditional audiences.
