Since we all sin and are therefore sinners, we 73 all must die for sin. The problem is because we're sinners; the payment of 74 death isn't enough to save us. We're left with a balance due, as it were, even 75 if we die. God's justice demands a pure payment for sin - we're all tainted 76 goods, so our payment isn't enough. God's love saw the terrible situation we're 77 in and therefore sent His Son Jesus Christ to live like us and then to die for 78 us as a pure payment. In other words, though Jesus never sinned, and therefore 79 didn't deserve to die, died for us, paying our debt for sin to the Father.</p> 80 <p> 81 Look at it like this. Weâre all in jail, on death row for our crimes. Jesus 82 tells the guard that Heâll die for the person on death row. The guard says ok 83 and Jesus dies for you. The news reaches you that Jesus died for you. All you 84 have to do to get out of jail is to believe the messenger and leave. As you leave 85 the jail cell, Jesus wispers in your heart saying that you can now truely live free 86 and abundantly if you follow Him. If you donât leave death row, youâll stay there 87 and die just as if Jesus had done nothing for you.</p> 88 <p> 89 See? Thatâs just what Jesus did. He came and lived life like we do, worked like 90 we do, but when the time was right He was crucified on a cross and died. The 91 payment of sin was paid, but on the third day, He rose from the dead to deliver 92 the payment for sin to the Father.</p> 93 <p> 94 So what do you have to do to be free? Simply ask Jesus to forgive you for your 95 sins and ask Him into your heart. The Bible says it best in Romans 10:9, âThat 96 if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine 97 heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.â Saved from 98 what? Saved from death, not physical death, but spiritual death in hell. See 99 our prison cell isnât a 6' x 6' room but sin is our prison. Most people donât 100 even know theyâre in prison let alone on death row. Romans 6:23 âFor the wages 101 of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our 102 Lord.â</p> 103 <p> 104 Now that you know the truth and that you can be free, what are you going to do 105 with it? If you accept Godâs gift remember that you are no longer your own, 106 Jesus bought you by His death. That means you have to turn from your sins, 107 reject them. The Bible calls it repentance. Remember that while on death row 108 you cannot do anything to get you out. Good behavior wonât set you free. Even 109 repentance canât set you free. Once youâre out, then you can show your 110 repentance through good works, not before.</p> 111 <p> 112 So talk to Jesus. Heâs ready to hear you. He loves you and just wants you to 113 know it.
