Temporary works were carried out to ensure the fixture could proceed safely. A subsequent structural survey that the problem was caused by woodworm. Since then, the need for a permanent solution has remained, with remedial work underway. .
215More recently, representatives of The Blue and Gold Supportersâ Trust have been working alongside the football club and have attended meetings with Council safety officials to help facilitate a permanent solution to this long-standing issue. This work is ongoing to have this issue resolved as soon as possible. .
216These ongoing maintenance requirements come at significant cost. The timber alone to carry out these repairs to the Main Stand represents a significant expense.
217To help meet these ongoing costs and in turn allow more of the clubâs resources to be directed towards football operations, The Blue and Gold Supportersâ Trust and the club have jointly launched a Ground Maintenance Fund. The Trust will administer the fund and ensure that every donation is used solely for essential ground repair and maintenance projects. .
218The main stand has served generations of Linnets supporters for over 70 years. As it reaches this remarkable milestone, we have an opportunity to give it the birthday present it deserves and help protect it for future generations. .
219Supporters may remember that the Trustâs previous Ground Development Fund successfully helped finance the purchase of the turnstiles at the Seven Sisters end of the ground as well as the St John Ambulance portacabin. We hope this new initiative can once again demonstrate what can be achieved when supporters come together behind their football club. .
220The Trust has established a dedicated account into which GMF donations can be transferred. The account details are as follows: .
221Account name: Blue and Gold Supportersâ Society.
222Account Number: 65734670.
223Sort code: 08 92 99.
224Cheques can also be forwarded to
225The Blue and Gold Supportersâ Trust,
22639, King John Avenue,
227Kingâs Lynn.
228PE30 4QB.
229 230Please write GMF on the reverse of all cheques. 231
232Supporters wishing to contribute regularly can also set up a standing order using the reference GMF. 233
234It is also hoped that collection points will be available around the ground on match days to allow for cash donations. 235
236We would encourage every Kingâs Lynn Town FC supporter to consider supporting this initiative. Every contribution no matter the amount will make a genuine difference. Together we can help preserve The Walks while supporting the continued progress of our football club. 237 238

Come On You Linnets!
239
240 241 242 243 244
Christmas Draw 2025
245Friday 26th December
246
247The Blue & Gold Christmas Draw was held in the Lord Napier on the 26th of December 2025 . This, in effect, sees Trust members become part owners of KLTFC. 299
Under the new ownership of Turn Sports Investments (TSI), the club has made a positive impact within the local community and The Trust aims to develop a strong working partnership with TSI. 300
300We would encourage as many supporters as possible to join The Trust and help develop the formal working relationship in the Club and strengthen the influence of you, the fans. 301
A recent poll of members agreed to purchase a shareholding in KLTFC, which sees The Trust achieve one of its main aims; to have formal representation in the running of the football club. In addition, an announcement of a new major sponsor at the Club is imminent. 324
325
Itâs a great time to be involved with KLTFC. Sadly, it was very shortly after this date that saw the demise of KLFC as a High Court winding-up order was issued due 557 to an unpaid tax bill of £77,000.
558 KLTFC is currently riding the crest of a wave and producing some fantastic and entertaining football, and long may it continue. Whilst The Trust has 559 its own clear objectives, we have recently raised funds in excess of £4,000 towards the cost of ground grading requirements necessary to compete at 560 step 2 football. In agreement with Stephen Cleeve, these monies have been forwarded to the manufacturer of the new turnstile units. However, the current 561 ownership model still does not allow for âformalâ supporter involvement in what happens at the Club. Notwithstanding, The Trust will continue in 562 its quest to meet its aims which are clearly detailed on this website.
The Directors of The Trust would like to take this opportunity to thanks all 563 who have supported the Trust over the past 10 years. 731Your Trust has recently received two grants to start LUNCH CLUBS for the ELDERLY in areas of the town where we already have a presence through our youth work.
Loneliness and isolation among the elderly are the hidden illnesses and we are pleased to be able to use these grants to relieve these for those attending the clubs.

The first application was to the local Community First panel representing St Margaret\'s ward for a grant to start a lunch club on Hillington Square. This was successful and the Trust has received a grant of £2,500 from the Government\'s Office for Civil Society. This club will be run with the assistance of officers working for Freebridge Community Housing and will take place every WEDNESDAY at the Olive Branch café on Hillington Square. It is open to residents of Hillington Square and those living in St Margaret\'s ward which extends to the South Gates along London Road, Queen Street, and Baker Lane amongst others.
The first session will be on the 14th January from 12.30 when club members will receive an introductory free meal as a welcoming gesture.

The second application was to the Warm and Well fund through the Norfolk Community Foundation to start a similar lunch club for the elderly in South Lynn. We have been awarded £2,070 for this venture which will take place on MONDAYS at the South Lynn Community Centre. The start date for this has yet to be confirmed and will be advised later.

Both clubs will be run by volunteers who will serve a hot meal and then provide social activities for those attending. We will also provide low impact fitness training, a variety of sporting activities, and computer training for interested members.

All food will be prepared and cooked at the Olive Branch cafe by staff from the PURFLEET TRUST who have been extremely supportive in the planning of both clubs. We see this as a win-win situation in giving the Purfleet Trust additional income whilst providing us with a convenient venue for Hillington Square and a food source for South Lynn.

The clubs are open to all elderly residents in each area and we welcome enquiries from Trust members and non-members alike who may have an older family member living in the catchment area.
More information can be obtained by using the "Contact us" feature on this website or by texting 07850395422
732
733
734 735 736

737Community Update
Monday 8th September

738 739The previous Community Update mentioned the Trust\'s evolving community partnership in South Lynn with MORSTON ASSETS, FREEBRIDGE HOUSING, and the ENABLE EAST 740charity.
741South Lynn is officially a deprived area, listed in the top 8% of all local government wards in England, so any support that can be given to the local community 742is much needed and we are pleased to be \'making a difference\' to the quality of life for residents.
743The latest joint venture was a trip to Banham Zoo for 74425 youngsters and 5 adults paid for by the BIG LOTTERY FUND through ENABLE EAST. Trust officials drove minibuses kindly provided by the DISCOVERY CENTRE for the 745trip which was thoroughly enjoyed by all those attending. In keeping with Enable East\'s remit to promote a healthy life style the youngsters spent 5 hours in the 746fresh air and enjoyed a wholesome picnic at lunchtime.
747On Sunday 7th September a group of 15 youngsters enjoyed an afternoons sailing and BBQ at the Ouse 748Amateur Sailing Club\'s Saddlebow facility. The stumbling block has been a problem with drainage on the field behind St Michael\'s school. 759This has finally been rectified by Balfour Beatty and Grounds Maintenance will now prepare and mark out a mini soccer pitch for our use.
760We are planning a community and sports day to take place on the MUGA at St. Michael\'s school on Monday 27th October during half term and intend to involve as many 761outside agencies as possible to maximise our increasing engagement with the community.
762 Its pleasing that adults are now coming forward to ask if certain 763activities are possible and we are in the process of establishing a fishing club and a community allotment, both on ground owned by MORSTON ASSETS.
764Finally, we have been successful in applying for funds from the King\'s Lynn Community panel for use in St. Margaret\'s ward and will be setting up a lunch and 765social club for the older residents of Hillington Square. This will start in the next few weeks and residents will be encouraged to organise menus and social 766activities.
767
768
769 770

771Grant Award
Friday 1st August

772 773The Trust is delighted to inform you that we have received £870 from the MARS in the COMMUNITY FUND via the Norfolk Community Foundation 774which will go into the South Lynn pot.
This will enable us to continue our current sports sessions and to look at adding a variety of sporting 775activities for the benefit of the youngsters and the older age groups.

Also we had a BOUNCE session yesterday funded and run by Enable East using 776Big Lottery money. 18 youngsters and 5 adults from South Lynn attended for activities and games promoting healthy eating, physical activity, and emotional 777well being. Encouragingly we are now seeing the parents coming 780along and asking to be involved which what we hoped for when we started the football sessions two years ago.

We also hope to be working further 781with Enable East to lay on other activities during the Summer holiday and through till Christmas.

Finally we have just started a 6 week 782session of Street Dance for girls at Providence Street with the support of Sam Gaughran.
Sam is organising an increasing number of sporting activities 783in West Norfolk, the latest being Basketball sessions on the court in the Walks which start shortly. 784
785
786 787 788

789COMMUNITY UPDATE
Tuesday 22nd July

790 791 792
Since we gave the Community Update a few months ago we have 793strengthened our relationship with MORSTON ASSETS and FREEBRIDGE COMMUNITY 794HOUSING and are delighted that 795representatives from both organisations are now actively involved with running 796the Girls Club in South Lynn.
797
We are
798also meeting on a weekly basis to discuss other initiatives that will benefit 799the youngsters immediately, and the wider community over the coming months.
800
We reported earlier that we are providing transport, with the help of Jimmy 801Yallop at the Discovery Centre, to groups of youngsters to attend the Activity 802Days organised by the area scouting 803movement funded by a grant from the Big Lottery. Our involvement in this has led 804to an approach from the ENABLE EAST charity asking us to suggest and organise 805activity sessions in South Lynn aimed at individual and group development, all 806to be funded through a Big Lottery grant.
807
The working 808partnership with MORSTON, FREEBRIDGE, and ENABLE EAST will raise our profile in 809South Lynn and enable us to do so much more by giving us access to an increasing 810number of families and, importantly, having the funds to make things happen.
811
ENABLE 812EAST run a BOUNCE programme which is designed to produce positive outcomes for 813local communities in the areas of healthy eating, physical activity, and 814emotional health. Sessions are run by a team of experienced coaches for all age 815groups and we look forward to engaging with a wide cross section of the 816community in the coming months.
817
On a 818day-to-day basis we continue to run the Saturday morning and Monday evening 819football sessions plus the Energy Club and tennis coaching sessions. We have had 820feedback from the local PCSO\'s as to the positive effect these sessions have on 821the youngsters. The resulting reduction in anti-social behaviour is exactly the 822sort of outcome we set out to achieve when we began our involvement in South 823Lynn 2 years ago.
824
We have 825been asked by FREEBRIDGE if girls from Hillington Square could join the Girls 826Club on Monday evenings and we are more than happy for them to do so. Initial 827attempts to persuade those girls to walk through to South Lynn have proved 828unsuccessful so we are changing tack by taking the Club to them for 6 weeks in 829the shape of Street Dance sessions 830to be held at Providence Street.
831
We have also arranged for a group of youngsters to try 832their hand at sailing on the relief channel behind the Power Station on 7th 833September and are grateful to the Ouse Amateur Sailing Club for their assistance 834in providing dinghies, instructors, and a safety boat for the afternoon.
835
Finally, we 836are about to receive STREET MARK accreditation for the South Lynn Sports Club. 837This is awarded by Games Changers, the body set up to promote sport as the 838legacy of the London Olympics which will open up another funding stream for us. 839This will enable us to introduce a wide variety of sporting activities in South 840Lynn, initially as taster sessions but with the intention of moving on to 841regular sessions. 842
843
844 845 846

847COMMUNITY UPDATE
Tuesday 3rd June

848
It has been some time since the Trust notified members of its involvement with the local community so we thought it proper that we give you an 849update on current and planned activities.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
1. We provide transport and other support to 850the West Norfolk Young Carer and the Terrington Young Carer groups We are grateful to Jimmy Yallop at the Discovery Centre for the use of his minibuses free 851of charge.
2. We continue to provide twice weekly football sessions for youngsters in South Lynn. The under 11 session is attended by an
852average of 24 youngsters and the 11 to 16 session averages 30. We use the Multi-use Games Area (MUGA) behind St Michaels school on Saturday mornings and 853midweek during the Summer, moving to the Sports Barn at Lynnsport during the Winter.
3. We organise tennis sessions on Thursday evenings 854throughout the year, attended by 12 to 15 youngsters of all ages.
4. We run an Energy Club on Mondays in the South Lynn scout hall. This 855gives a structured exercise programme with a healthy eating message to youngsters ages 4 to 11.
5. We were invited by the Games Changers 856Charity, which promotes the legacy of the Olympics, to participate in a scheme to re-cycle used sports equipment for the benefit of disadvantaged youngsters. 857This is being run by students from the Pre-uniform and Public Service course at the College of West Anglia with the retail outlet being the Big C shop in Norfolk 858Street. Student\'s participation in this scheme has given them the confidence to do additional voluntary work for the Big C charity 859which is a pleasing extension to the original idea of offering them retail experience. We are always looking for additional stock for the shop so please ring 86007850395422 if you have anything suitable. Collection can be arranged.
6. The area scout leader has been successful in obtaining a grant 861from the Big Lottery to run several "Adventurous Activity Days" for local youngsters. As always transport is a problem and we are pleased, again 862with the co-operation of the Discovery Centre, to be able to help out with this. Youngsters take part in archery, rifle shooting, wall climbing, slack wire 863walking and other activities over a 6 hour period with not a Gameboy or Xbox to be seen!
864
HOW ARE WE ABLE TO DO ALL THIS? 865
We have been awarded grants totalling nearly £11000 from the Co-op Community Fund, Norfolk Community Fund, Love Norfolk and Safer Norfolk Funds 866over the last two years and this money is spent on the youngsters in South Lynn.
We are now beginning to engage with the wider community in South Lynn and its 867encouraging when parents and passers-by stop for a chat and give us feedback and ideas for the future.

868WHAT NEXT?
1. Our membership of the West Norfolk VCA and Momentum provides us with information as to new grant funding 869opportunities and application to these funds is a constant, on-going process. We have funds at the moment to take us through to the end of July but are hopeful of 870receiving a positive outcome to our application for a years money to the Norfolk Foundation.
2. A support group for Young Adult Carers 871( 16 to 25 year olds ) has just started meeting in the Community room at the Tesco Hardwick Road store. An approach to the group leader has been well received 872with a further meeting planned to discuss ways in which we can help them to get maximum benefit from their sessions.
3. We are meeting with 873a representative from Games Changers to discuss the setting up a grant aided Door Step Club in South Lynn. Grants are aimed at areas in the top 20% of the 874Government Deprivation Index ( South Lynn is in the top 8% ) and are designed to offer taster sessions in a wide variety of sporting activities. These 875are aimed at 16 to 25 year olds and, importantly, also at a female only groups which is a particular need in South Lynn. Whilst we await the outcome 876of this meeting we have responded to this need by starting a girls only section of the South Lynn Sports Club which meets for an hour every Monday evening doing 877a variety of sports including a trip to the local swimming pool, Street dance and cycling. This venture is being supported by a £500 grant from Active 878Norfolk.
4. We have been asked if we could run age group football teams in South Lynn. Several youngster
878s currently play for teams in other 879parts of the town and it would promote community cohesion if they could have their own teams. To achieve this we are talking to the Council regarding the lease 880of the Community Changing rooms at the rear of St. Michaels school and the use of the field behind the MUGA. We will, however, need grant money to enable this to 881happen.
5. Everything we have mentioned thus far has been aimed at youngsters. However, we have identified the need for a lunch club for the 882elderly in South Lynn to cut down loneliness and isolation, and to provide a hot meal and some social activities. A bid was made to the People\'s Health Trust 883( The Health Lottery ) for a grant to enable us to set up such a club to be run by helpers from the area, but unfortunately due to the overwhelming number of 884applications for financial assistance, our bid was unsuccessful. Funding is being pursued through other sources.
885 886
887
888 889 890

891TRUST IN THIRD GEAR
Sunday 4th May 2014

892The Blue and Gold Supporters\' Trust had several roles for the 10th GEAR in King\'s Lynn. It\'s fair to say that the Trust was originally conceived due to supp
1166orters concerns regarding the management and ownership of the club.
1167Cast your mind back to mid-2009, when we, the fans, had just learnt that the club had been relegated due to ground grading issues, even though the Council had allocated £150,000 for ground improvements long before the club was forcibly relegated.
1168At the fans\' forum at the start of the 2009/2010 season, the fans were asked to draw a line under the relegation issue by the then chairman, rather than answer questions from the Trust as to the mismanagement of the ground improvements. Furthermore, on the same evening we were told that the winding-up order (already issued) was in fact a mistake by HMRC and there was absolutely nothing to worry about. We were asked to trust the owners and assured the debt would be repaid. However, by December 10 2009 our worst fears had become true and the club ceased to exist. In the press, the then chairman told us "we\'re truly sorry", and walks away from the whole mess. But in that same press report there is a first mention of the new owners interest in the club saying that money was in place to save the club but is quoted as saying "I\'ve never had a limited company, never owned a limited company and don\'t intend to, so that really blew everything out of the water". Bear in mind that the club was playing football in the Northern Premier, were fifth, ten points behind the leaders with four games in hand. Within a few short weeks a limited company was formed to successfully win the bid to own the lease to the ground and form a new club, albeit playing three leagues lower in the football pyramid. Many would like to believe that if the Trust had £70,000 in the bank two years previously every effort would have been made to keep the existing club afloat.
1169So a supporter trust is there to try and safeguard the future of the club and had one been formed years previously who knows what league we would have been playing in, but I would like to think it wouldn\'t be in the UCL with no disrespect to the league or teams currently in it.
1170A supporters club can never fulfil this guardian\'s role as we found with the old club when the supporters club were impotent and incapable of averting the winding-up order as all the money they had raised had been handed over to the owners to do with as they decided. However, it\'s great to see a new supporters club has now been set up to assist with the day-to-day tasks, such as the match day programme, away travel etc.
1171Of course, many club owners dislike supporters\' trusts due to their aims of supporter ownership or board representation, but there are also others that have found that supporter power can push a club onto greater things, like Swansea in the premiership with a 20% ownership by the Swans Trust. There are many also other success stories with supporters\' trusts involved at all levels of football.
1172Mistakes have been made in this new club environment and let\'s hope that the club never suffers the problems of the past. In fact, I am sure the current owners would never get the club into financial difficulties, but trust is a big word in football and if anything the past tells us about football in Lynn, owners have come and gone with great regularity and constant change is always a possibility.
1173With the support of its members the trust will always be there in the future to help ensure football in Lynn continues for another 130 years.
1174 1175
1176
1177 1178 1179 1180 1181

1182 1183

Trust Statement
1184 1185

1186The Trust yesterday (13th June) received a personal letter from Keith Chapman confirming that the club did not at this time want to consider working with the Trust 1187and raising some issues they had in regards to the Trust sponsored website.
1188We are therefore extremely disappointed that before the Trust had an opportunity to reply to the club that parts of the letter have been released and published 1189in today\'s Lynn News.
1190This would appear to be yet another attempt to show the Trust as acting against the Club on its concerns without the chance to respond. On several occasions during the 1191last year we have made positive suggestions to assist the Club, such as the Player of the Month awards only to be discouraged or ignored.
1192The Trust is today taking advice through Supporters Direct in regards to the Club\'s concerns relating to the website and will reply in confidence to Keith in due course.
1193We can only reiterate that the Trust has no desire or seek to be in dispute or disagreement with the owners of the Club but will c

Whilst Chairman, Len made great strides in bringing the Trust closer to the Club with the appointment of a Club Liason Officer, and also with regular meetings. 1260These efforts seemed to be undermined at the recent fans\' forum where the club used the opportunity to raise issues in a public forum, rather than
1260in the meetings that were being held with the Trust\'s Liasion Officer. Len was obviously disappointed at this. On behalf of the Trust\'s 1261officials and its Members, I would like to thank Len for all the hard work and consdierable effort he has put into the Blue and Gold Supporters\' Trust since it started.
1262Finally, I would like to re-iterate that The Trust or any of its Officials will not engage in debate on the forums when matters of the Trust are raised. Living in Norwich and possibly moving to Lowestoft in the next 3 months means that it will become increasingly difficult to attend meetings and functions on a regular basis. 1477
14782. I have become increasingly aware that my strengths are not as being chairman and this is having a detrimental effect on the direction of the Trust, moving forward. 1479
14803. When Julian Gamble, Ray Sherring and I first started the process of setting up a Supporters\' Trust, our goals were to achieve a well supported trust with at least 100 members by the end of 2009. This has been achieved and I am very proud of what we have all managed to do. No one could have believed what we have been involved in over the last 6 months and I have been extremely proud to have been a part of it. 1481
14824. I am also sensitive to the fact that as Chairman of the trust, pre-Chapman era, there are a number of supporters that view me as having a personal vendetta which reflects negatively on the wider picture. I would like to finally state that this is not the case and I have always offered our new owners my full support. 1483
1484The directors of the Trust met last night and it was agreed that Len Candlish take the role of Chairman until our first AGM. 15271. We will continue to 1535actively seek ways to save the existing Club, and we appeal to anyone in Kings 1536Lynn to approach us if they think they can help us achieve this. Please email 1537[email protected] 1538if this applies to you.

But we would be equally foolish to ignore the 1539need to make sure that if the worst does happen, and if any appeal is 1540unsuccessful that we have a Club to support, and so with our advisors Supporters 1541Direct we are working on a Plan B to reform the Club.

Although this 1542is the saddest of times for all of us, it is also a time where we all need to be 1543focused as supporters on the outcome. Whatever happens today, in the next seven 1544days, or the next seven months, a football club in Kings Lynn will live on, and 1545we must all be focused on ensuring that outcome, proudly continuing the history 1546of the last 130 years.
1547
Date added: 25 Nov 2009
1548 1549
1550
1551

1552 1553

1554 1555Trust Launch
1556 1557Thursday 19th November 2009

1558The Blue & Gold Trust was officially launched.
