Yet it is precisely in the faces of those forced to leave home, migrants, refugees, and displaced persons, that we encounter a resilient hope that refuses despair. Through their journeys, they bear witness to faith that beholds a future beyond the horizon, a hope that illuminates even the darkest paths.</p> <p>Scripture echoes this truth. Like the people of Israel wandering through the desert, sustained by God’s providence <i>“Rain in abundance… you restored your heritage… in your goodness, O God, you provided for the needy”</i> (Ps 68:7-10), so migrants today mirror that divine accompaniment, carrying hope within their very steps. And as the psalmist reminds us: <i>“Under his wings you will find refuge… his faithfulness is a shield and buckler”</i> (Ps 91:3-6), a promise to all who embark on uncertain paths.</p> <p>The Church, our pilgrim community, is called to recognize that migrants are not simply recipients of charity but missionaries of hope. Their presence in new lands rekindles spiritual life in communities grown weary, fosters interreligious dialogue rooted in everyday solidarity, and invites us all to live with renewed purpose and faithfulness.</p> <p>This <i><b>missio migrantium</b></i> must be supported with pastoral formation and robust inter-ecclesial collaboration. Migrants must be empowered to witness, to evangelize, and to share their gifts, physically, spiritually, culturally, with full dignity and reciprocity. At the same time, receiving communities must extend true hospital

1ity, embracing newcomers as brothers and sisters in Christ, enriching the life of the Church through diversity and shared mission.</p> <p>As Scalabrinians, we are called to stand with migrants in their journey, sustaining hope through accompaniment, compassionate advocacy, and a gospel witness that honors their dignity. We entrust these courageous travelers, and all who walk alongside them, to the maternal protection of Mary, Comfort of Migrants, that she may keep alive the flame of hope in their hearts and ours, guiding us toward the Kingdom of God, our true homeland.</p> <p><i>May the grace we share through our ministry reveal the face of Christ to all who are displaced and through them, renew the Church for mission, communion, and hope!</i></p>",1),da=l("<p>Queridos hermanos y hermanas: En este Año Jubilar de los Migrantes y las Misiones, el tema «Migrantes, misioneros de la esperanza» nos recuerda que quienes se ven obligados a desplazarse se convierten en instrumentos a través de los cuales Dios infunde vida, renovación y gracia, no solo para sí mismos, sino también para la Iglesia y el mundo.</p> <p>

1Vivimos en una época marcada por los conflictos, la inequidad, los desastres naturales y la fragmentación de nuestra humanidad compartida. Sin embargo, es precisamente en los rostros de quienes se ven obligados a abandonar sus hogares —migrantes, refugiados y desplazados— donde encontramos una esperanza resiliente que rechaza la desesperación. A través de sus peregrinaciones, dan testimonio de una fe que ve un futuro más allá del horizonte, una esperanza que ilumina incluso los caminos más oscuros.</p> <p>La Escritura se hace eco de esta verdad. Al igual que el pueblo de Israel peregrinando por el desierto, sostenido por la providencia de Dios: «Lluvia abundante… restauraste tu herencia… en tu bondad, oh Dios, proveíste a los necesitados» (Sal 68,7-10), los migrantes de hoy reflejan ese acompañamiento divino, llevando la esperanza en cada paso. Y como nos recuerda el salmista: «Bajo sus alas encontrarás refugio… su fidelidad es escudo y adarga» (Sal 91,3-6), una promesa para todos los que emprenden caminos inciertos.</p> <p>La Iglesia, nuestra comunidad peregrina, está llamada a reconocer que los migrantes no son simplemente receptores de caridad, sino misioneros de esperanza. Su presencia en nuevas tierras reaviva la vida espiritual en comunidades agotadas, fomenta el diálogo interreligioso arraigado en la solidaridad cotidiana y nos invita a todos a vivir con renovado propósito y fidelidad.</p> <p>Esta <b><i>missio migrantium</i></b> debe apoyarse con formación pastoral y una sólida colaboración intereclesial. Los migrantes deben ser empoderados para testificar, evangelizar y compartir sus dones, física, espiritual y culturalmente, con plena dignidad y reciprocidad. Al mismo tiempo, las comunidades receptoras deben brindar una verdadera hospitalidad, acogiendo a los recién llegados como hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, enriqueciendo la vida de la Iglesia a través de la diversidad y la misión compartida.</p> <p>Como Scalabrinianos, estamos llamados a acompañar a los migrantes en su camino, sosteniendo la esperanza mediante el acompañamiento, la defensa compasiva y un testimonio evangélico que honre su dignidad.
