Probiotical Spotlights Two Category-Expanding Microbiome Product Launches Featuring its Strains

A vaginal probiotic capsule by Daré Bioscience and Wizard Wellness' probiotic-powered oral strips, sinus rinses, and spray technology showcase where the probiotic category is headed, the supplier reported.

Probiotical, a global supplier and manufacturer of probiotics and postbiotics, highlighted two recent consumer product launches featuring its microbial ingredients, demonstrating how microbiome science is expanding into more targeted wellness applications: Daré Bioscience’s DARE to RESTORE Flora Sync LF5, a vaginal probiotic capsule designed and clinically studied to restore the vaginal microbiome balance, and Wizard Wellness’ range of steroid-free, probiotic-powered oral strips, sinus rinses, and spray technology for seasonal allergy support.

Each brand addresses highly specific consumer needs and builds a strong microbiome proposition around them, Probiotical reported, noting that development required strong alignment with microbial science, product development, and formulation expertise.

Daré Bioscience uses Probioticals’ precision single-strain in Flora Sync LF5 to support vaginal wellness via a simple 3-day protocol. Wizard Wellness uses a multi-strain pre- and probiotic blends in innovative formats such as fast-dissolving oral strips, paired with complementary ingredients for consumers with seasonal allergies.

Probiotical maintains a collection of more than 2,000 microbial strains, with over 60 currently in commercial production, giving developers options for precision single-strain products, proprietary multi-strain formulas, and more complex formulations that combine probiotics with prebiotics, botanicals, minerals, and other ingredients. Probiotical’s development model addresses health needs first, selecting an approach that fits the health target, processing conditions, stability requirements, and intended consumer experience.

Probiotical notes that multi-strain formulas must be evaluated for individual functionality, performance alongside other strains, compatibility with additional active and inactive ingredients, and stability within the intended finished-product format. Probioticals’ research and development process examines:

  • Strain identity and intended functionality
  • Compatibility among strains in a multi-strain formula
  • Compatibility with prebiotics, botanicals, minerals, and other actives
  • Appropriate dosage and concentration
  • Manufacturing and processing conditions
  • Viability throughout intended shelf life
  • Stability within finished-product format and packaging

The company recently hired industry executive Keith Dunne as director of market expansion in North America. Dunne previously served as General Manager and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at American River Nutrition and has operational leadership experience in nutraceutical ingredients and consumer health sectors.

“Probiotical’s white-glove development model supports customers throughout the product development journey,” said Dunne. “Our integrated model gives emerging brands access to the microbial research, scientific personnel, and manufacturing capabilities typically associated with much larger organizations, along with the expertise in strain selection, multi-strain compatibility, stability, delivery, and scale-up needed to translate an idea into a differentiated commercial product.”
